TechXpo is back!

The Brunei Technology Expo (TechXpo) 2018 is back for its fifth round at the International Convention Centre. The event was officially launched by the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib Bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof, Minister of Communications at the opening ceremony last Saturday. Also in attendance was Yang Mulia awg Hj Marzuke bin Hj Mohsin, Deputy Minister of Development.

This year’s TechXpo revolves around the theme “Innovative Technology For All” and acts as a platform for exhibitors to showcase products, services, trends, developments, and ideas associated with technology from Brunei and all around the world.

Visitors can look forward to various activities such as seminars and workshops organised by Global Blockchains Business Consulting Sdn Bhd, Techhaven and ITPSS. There will also be a blood donation drive by RIPAS from 10am to 2pm on 20th August. Other services that will be available during the expo are the All Day Water Dispenser by Cuckoo International (B) Sdn Bhd and a bean bag area by Brunei Bean Bag Company.

One of the highlights of the TechXpo is the TechXpo Cyber Games Tournament 2018, organised by D’Sunlit Sdn Bhd and Sigma Cyberspace. A prize pool of BND$15,000 worth of cash prizes are to be won across 7 games. There are over 100 teams that will compete for the tournament on PC, console and mobile platforms.

In addition, visitors can also meet and interact with the humanoid robot, Zora by Zorabots, a Belgian-based robotics company that makes friendly and intelligent companions with the goal of making your life better, more fun, healthier and relaxed.

Other activities to look out for is the BAG Networks Trail to TechXpo 2018, which is a platform that uses GPS, augmented reality and image recognition to play. There is also an Electronic Lucky draw where lucky participants will stand a chance to win Microsoft Surface Pro 4, Samsung S9 Plus, Acer Travel Mate P249 and many more prizes.

TechXpo 2018 is organised by InfoCom Federation Brunei (IFB), a non-profit organisation that serves as the voice of Brunei Darussalam’s ICT industry, and D’Sunlit Sdn Bhd as the event manager.
