Art Vision showcases local artists’ work
Last weekend, Art Vision opened up its doors to the public at their grand opening at the Seni Gallery Dermaga Diraja in the capital.
In attendance as the guest of honour was Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. In a welcoming speech, the Brunei Art Forum President and Rainforest Gallery Director Dato Paduka Haji Shofri bin Haji Abdul Ghafor, stated that the exhibition aims to encourage the youth to keep the Brunei art scene alive. Also present at the opening were members of the diplomatic corps, government bodies as well as local artists.
The exhibition consists of two categories: Point of View and Brunei Art Bargain. Point of View is a contemporary art exhibition whereas the Brunei Art Bargain is an art fair offering artworks for sale, costing no more than BND1,000. Both exhibits feature works by local artists.
The exhibition is organised by the Brunei Art Forum and the Department of Museums Brunei, with the support of strategic partners: Creative Space Art Gallery & Studio, Kaleidoscope Studio, Stain, Rainforest Art Gallery, Jo’s Art Gallery and Decor, Mizaty Gallery, The Birdhouse Studio and Arttralia. Art Vision 2018 is supported by MixMedia Worx as the digital media partner, The Bruneian as the digital news partner and brunei.events as the digital event partner.
Art Vision will be on-going until the 31st of July at the Seni Gallery Dermaga Diraja, Waterfront in the capital. Opening hours are from 9:00AM to 4:00PM daily.
