Description

What is Creative Arts Therapy and what does it mean to use it multi-modally? This workshop is an introduction to the Creative Arts in therapeutic settings. Experience how the multi-modal use of different art forms (e.g. visual art, music, drama and movement) can create an ‘entry’ into one’s emotions and experience the Arts as a form of emotional expression and communication.

Open to general public aged 21 and above. Anyone with an interest in Creative Arts Therapy and the Multi-modal use of different Arts Forms. No experience necessary. Running on two dates, choose either 19 June or 20 June 2026. Workshop fees include all materials, refreshment and certificate of participation.

Benefits:

  • Explore the therapeutic aspects of creative arts as a powerful tool for self-regulation, emotional expression, and overall well-being.
  • Learn practical techniques and exercises to incorporate arts into their self-care routines and therapeutic practices, promoting holistic wellness and resilience.
  • Understand the ways in which engaging in artistic activities can enhance communication skills and facilitate non-verbal expression.
  • Explore the arts as a safe enough space for exploring emotions and experiences, offering possible ways of coping.
  • Provide participants with the understanding of multi-modal creative arts therapy, an introduction which allows participants who may wish to pursue further leading to potential certification in Creative Arts Therapy.

Workshop will be facilitated by Marissa Teo (AThR) from Singapore.
